Self Abhyanga &Ayurvedic Daily RitualsWorkshop
ॐ
Self-Abhyanga, the traditional Ayurvedic practice of self-oil massage, is one of my most cherished daily rituals. I was first taught five years ago by my friend Dylan at Vital Veda, who shared this lineage technique from the renowned Ayurvedic Vaidya’s The Raju family. Since then, Abhyanga has become a cornerstone of my own self-care, and I’ve shared it with many friends and clients who have experienced its deeply grounding and restorative effects.
This workshop auspiciously falls on Dhanteras, the day in the Vedic Calender Lord Dhanvantari is honoured and celebrated, the divine physician and father of Ayurveda. According to the Vedic tradition, this is his birthday — a time especially potent for beginning new healing practices and connecting with the wisdom of Ayurveda. Learning Self-Abhyanga and the art of daily rituals on this day is a way of aligning with the blessings of Dhanvantari, inviting health, longevity, and prosperity into your life. Last Dhanteras Prema went to Hyderbad, India to be with her teachers Harsha and Pavani Raju and dedicated 42 days in an Ayurvedic Initation called Deeksha devoted to Dhanvantari. Prema will share some of the Ayurvedic rituals practiced during this immersive time.
This workshop arose out of growing interest and demand. It is a perfect time to immerse yourself in this ancient Ayurvedic practice — one that nourishes body, mind, and spirit, and offers steady support through the cycles of life. Self-Abhyanga is especially supportive for women at all stages, including postpartum (please note it is contraindicated during menstruation, the first trimester of pregnancy, and from 32–36 weeks of gestation.)
What you’ll experience in this 2.5hr worshop:
An introduction to Abhyanga: tips, oil specifications and practical guidance including shareing with your family.
An introduction to Dinacharya: Ayurveda’s daily rituals and routines to support balance, rhythm, and vitality in busy modern life
A guided Self-Abhyanga: learning the full-body sequence and massage strokes step by step
Conclude the workshop with homemade chai

Bhakti Heart Kirtan
Join us in community for a joyous and devotional evening at South Golden Beach Hall, on the 2nd Friday of every month.
In the spirit of Bhakti yoga, the yoga of love and devotion, we gather and chant as a community. Together we chant ancient Sanskrit mantras (coming from the Indian Vedic Tradition) in a repetitious melody, lead by Prema and accompanied by different guest musicians each month. This months guest musicians are Govardhan-Dhari Das and Tulasi Das.
Chanting can naturally invite both an ecstatic and meditative state. An invitation to sing from the heart and to the heart ~ opening more and more to the sacredness of Being. This practice is for everyone regardless of previous kirtan or musical experience.
Children are welcome if supervised by accompanying adult (especially near any candles).
10% of this events profit and the cake & chai donations is all going to the non-profit organisation INARA which funds support towards surgeries, medical supplies, post-operative care, and various mental health projects for the children of Gaza, affected by the current and ongoing genocide.
Please BYO mug & floor cushion (chairs are available if needed).
At the end we will be serving Cake & Chai by Cash donation.
*If experiencing genuine financial hardship please connect with Prema regarding partial scholarship or volunteer position.

Jai Mā Kirtan
Fortnightly we come together in circle to sing from our hearts.
An invitation for all mothers upon their journey (pre-conception, pregnancy, postpartum, aunties, grandmothers) and mother-care workers (including doulas/birth-keepers, midwives, practitioners and nannies) to come together in reverence and devotion to honour the Sacred through the practice of chanting. This is a safe breastfeeding space, please bring any extra pillows you need to feel supported and comfortable. Your families; bubs, children and partners are welcome, we just ask that no little-ones are left unattended. In order to support the group if any disruptions arise with the children, we kindly ask you to take a pause outside together.
Together we will chant mostly Sanskrit mantras coming from the tradition of Bhakti Yoga, the Yoga of love and devotion. No experience with Kirtan or singing is needed, just come with an open heart. We finish each circle with a short gentle and relaxing guided yoga nidra/sound healing/meditation.
The inspiration for this regular circle was sparked by Prema’s love for tending to mothers in pregnancy and postpartum. Finding there was a need for more sacred spaces that support both self-care and community connection.
जय मा
Jai Mā

Previous chanting/musical experience is not required.
Please bring your own water-bottle and any extra cushions you require.
